Use wax resist and water to create a sharp metal clay etch. Some editorial errors slipped through the cracks in this article. First, it should be clarified that the metal clay piece should be completely dry before starting step 1 of the project, page 68. If you draw on damp clay, you may dent or scratch the surface, and painting wax resist onto clay that is not yet dry may extend the drying time. Second, in "Easy to Resist," page 69, if you flow slip over a section that's been etched too deeply, it is not necessary to reapply the wax resist; the slip will not stick to the resist. Third, the artist's preferred wax resist is Mayco Coloramics AC-302, available from wholelottawhimsy.com.
