Die forming is one of my favorite metals techniques to teach, and I frequently utilize this process in my own work. This technique exploits the malleability and ductility of non-ferrous metals. It will allow you to quickly turn flat sheet metal into volumetric curved forms in any shape imaginable while maintaining surface texture that has been applied to the metal before the forming process. This article focuses on the basics of making and using silhouette (or non-conforming) dies in a hydraulic press.
