The Romanov chain is characterized by pairs of Byzantine segments, sometimes surrounding a central bead, connected to linking rings. The usual method for incorporating beads involves making the Byzantine units first, creating separate bead links, and attaching them either to the middle rings of the Byzantine segments or to the linking rings. In this version, bead links with double loops form the central part of the Byzantine units, creating a clean, sturdy connection between the chain and the beads. By Scott David Plumlee
